Troubleshooting

The wall or form looks narrow

Blocks default to wide alignment, but some themes limit the content width. Select the block, open the alignment toolbar and choose Wide or Full. With shortcodes, place them in a full-width section of your page builder.

Submissions do not appear

  1. Check Reviews → Pending (the admin menu badge shows the count).
  2. If the reviewer saw "Something went wrong", the submission may have been flagged as spam: submitting in under three seconds, or many submissions from the same network in a short time, are discarded.
  3. Caching plugins can serve a stale form page. Exclude the form page from page caching.

Email alerts do not arrive (Pro)

WordPress sends email through your hosting's mail() function, which many hosts block or mark as spam. Install an SMTP plugin (for example WP Mail SMTP or FluentSMTP) and send a test email. Then check Settings → Admirly → General → Notification email.

Video upload fails (Pro)

The limit is the smaller of your server's upload limit and the plugin setting. Ask your host to raise upload_max_filesize and post_max_size, or lower the value under Settings → Admirly → General → Max video size. Alternatively ask reviewers to paste a YouTube link.

Translations do not show

Make sure Settings → General → Site Language matches the language you expect. For your own texts (form title, labels) use WPML or Polylang String Translation as described in Multilingual sites.

License issues (Pro)

  • "License already in use": deactivate it on the previous site (Settings → Admirly → Account) or from your account.
  • "Could not connect": the site must be able to reach api.freemius.com on port 443. Some firewalls or local environments block outgoing requests.
  • Staging sites: deactivate the license on staging, or write to support for a staging exception.

Moving to another site

Export reviews as CSV (Pro) for your records. The standard WordPress export/import tool (Tools → Export, post type "Reviews") moves reviews including their meta. Settings are stored in a single option and travel with a full-site migration.

Removing the plugin

Deactivate and delete from the Plugins screen. Data stays unless you enabled "Delete all data on uninstall" under Settings → Admirly → Tools first.
